Leadership and Management Apprenticeship Programmes: Stakeholder survey The government is committed to boosting productivity by investing in the UK workforce. As part of this, it is developing vocational skills, and increasing the quantity and quality of apprenticeships, with a commitment to an additional 3 million apprenticeship, to start in England by 2020. Apprenticeships have a proud NHS history and are an important part of the modern NHS. With the introduction of the new apprenticeship levy, the NHS, as the largest employer in England, will lead the public sector in its use.The NHS Leadership Academy (the Academy); part of Health Education England, helps develop people already in, or seeking to move into leadership and management roles through its current national leadership development programmes, with the ambition to offer some of these programmes through the apprenticeship levy to help further develop the future NHS workforce. To help shape the way forward, the Academy is undertaking research to understand how it can help NHS organisations use the apprenticeship levy to meet their workforce development needs; with a specific focus on the leadership and management apprentice standards. As part of this research, the Academy is inviting those involved in the apprenticeship levy within NHS organisations to participate in a survey to help understand more about how they are intending to use their levy, and how best to support them to achieve their leadership and management requirements. If you are not involved with the apprenticeship levy please forward the survey to the appropriate person(s) in your organisation. The survey will only take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and closes on Monday, 5 March 2018.
