Leadership development, should it be mandated?

As part of the work to develop the NHS People Plan, the NHS Leadership Academy are looking at how we ensure the NHS has compassionate, inclusive and effective leadership at every level. When our staff become leaders for the first time in their career, we want them to be equipped with the right knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours they need and also feel empowered and supported to lead in our complex environments.
